We have had a few failures as well, Someone once told me that it is difficult to grow Passionfruit in the same place where there was a previous Passionfruit plant. They said it was because the site is depleted of micro nutrients particular to Passionfruit. There may be some truth in that statement as we had a terrific vine many years ago and when it died we tried replanting several times before giving up. You could always resort to growing in a pot.
